Weekly Grocery List

I actually enjoy grocery shopping. Maybe not so much during quarantine, but at least it’s nice to get out. I usually shop at Whole Foods on the weekly basis and periodically go to Costco and Trader Joe’s. A lot of people say Whole Foods is expensive but if you stick to produce and stay away from packaged/processed foods then it’s not so bad. Their meat and seafood is very high quality so you pay for what you get. I love their produce because they have a lot of organic options and it’s always fresh and doesn’t go bad so fast (unlike Trader Joe’s).

I’m a creature of habit so I tend to buy pretty much the same stuff every week. But I will switch up some fruit and veggie depending on my mood and what’s in season. Also, if I feel like getting crackers or chips or ice cream, then ill buy that once in a while. Or if we are running low on beans/pasta/rice etc. I’ll grab that as well. A few tips for grocery shopping:

  1. Don’t grocery shop when hungry because you will buy too much of extra crappy food that you don’t need in the house. If you don’t buy it then its not in the house and you are not tempted to eat it.

  2. Stay on the perimeter of the grocery store. The middle section of the store is where all the junk food is.

  3. Always make a shopping list and stick to it! This way, you get only what you need (and save some $$). I always use a list on my phone, its so much easier than pen and paper. The App that I use for that is called Paprika. You have to pay for it initially but I do love how I can have all my recipes saved in it, as well as a saved grocery list which I never have to re-write, I just check it off as I go.
